Martin has two decades of event driven investing experience across both credit and equity. He has run the current dual credit and equity strategy for well over a decade, initially as founding partner at Sothic Capital and since February 2020 as the CIO of Astaris.

Before founding Astaris and Sothic, Martin held senior credit-focused roles at Centerbridge Partners and J.P. Morgan respectively. Martin is highly experienced investing in non-performing loans, European single name corporate distressed and special situations as well as event driven credit and equity investments.

Robert is a founding partner of Astaris and has significant experience in restructuring advisory and the single name distressed space. He and Martin have worked together since 2016.

Prior to co-founding Astaris Capital, Robert was an analyst at Centerbridge Partners in London where he worked together with Martin on European distressed investments. Robert’s experience in these fields commenced in 2014, when he joined Blackstone Advisory Partners (today PJT Partners) to advise corporates and creditors in financial restructuring situations.

Björn has two decades of experience working in investment banking, capital markets and investing. Prior to joining Astaris in 2019 as one of the founding partners, he was a senior member of Deutsche Bank’s market leading distressed debt desk where he focussed on origination, trading and execution of investment ideas.

Before Deutsche Bank, Björn was part of JPMorgan’s Global Special Opportunities Group where he led investments in special situations credit as well as new money debt financings.

Björn began his career in the investment banking department of JPMorgan where he was active both in the equity capital markets group as well as in the TMT corporate finance advisory team.

Nick joined Astaris as an Analyst from the Fund’s inception in early 2020 and brings with him considerable expertise within both listed and private investments across the capital structure.

Prior to joining Astaris he was a Managing Director of a family office in Luxembourg where he advised on listed and private equity and credit investments, alongside direct fund allocations. He was additionally responsible for the provision of macro analysis. Nick started his investment career in 2011 as a proprietary trader in exchange traded futures.

Antonin joined Astaris as an Analyst in Q2 2022 having completed an internship with Astaris beforehand.

Antonin brings complementary language expertise to the team with fluency in French and Spanish in addition to experience in Mandarin and Vietnamese. Prior to his internship at Astaris, Antonin completed an internship at a software company where he focused on the implementation and management of company strategy. His appetite for a career in investing was established through an investment banking internship at an M&A boutique in Vietnam during his business masters degree.

Geoffrey is the Chief Operating Officer and Head of Compliance at Astaris Capital Management LLP and joined Astaris as a partner in March 2020. He started his career in Investment Management in 2003 with the Kyte Group.

Before Astaris, Geoffrey held a number of senior roles including his position as Managing Director and Head of Operations at GPI Capital, a Private Equity Manager with offices in New York and London. Geoffrey has worked alongside Martin for much of his career, namely in his positions as Head of Operations at Sothic Capital and as Head of Middle Office for one of JP Morgan’s proprietary trading units.

Anil has been building his experience in Middle Office and Operations for credit and OTC derivative products since 2014. He joined Astaris in April 2021 as Middle Office & Trade Support Manager.

Before joining Astaris, Anil most recently worked for Ferox Capital as a senior analyst and before that Northern Trust.

Vinnie is a Chartered Accountant and has more than a decade of experience in accounting and finance within the investment management industry. He joined Astaris in October 2020 as the Director of Finance.

Prior to joining Astaris, Vinnie was the Financial Controller at Elan Capital Management where he was responsible for implementing and the ongoing management of the finance function for both Investment Manager and Fund entities. Before joining Elan, Vinnie held the position of Fund Controller at Hayfin Capital Management. Vinnie began his career at Kinetic Partners as an Audit Associate.

Fahid has well over a decade of experience in operations within the investment management industry. He joined Astaris in January 2024 as the Drawdown Operations Manager.

Prior to joining Astaris, Fahid worked in operational roles for several family offices where he was responsible for a variety of functions including trade support, NAVs, performance reporting, compliance, and 3^rd party management. Before this, Fahid held the position of Investment Administrator at Baillie Gifford and covered all operational responsibilities for North American segregated clients. Fahid started his career at Morgan Stanley as an Analyst.

James started his career in finance in 1999 and brings over two decades of experience with him relating to capital raising and risk analysis. He has raised capital from a multitude of different institutional investor types and successfully grown funds from launch over his career. James joined Astaris as Head of Marketing and Investor Relations in March 2021.

Before joining Astaris, James held senior asset raising roles at Melqart Asset Management, Armajaro Asset Management and Tisbury Capital after starting his investment career at Deutsche Bank. James has worked with many different asset classes and strategies over the course of his career but has primarily focused on event driven strategies trading equity and credit.
